The Dean of the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics participates in a workshop on international commercial arbitration
The Dean of the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics Dr. Rafa Abbas Hassan participated in the workshop on International Arbitration Law held at the Mahdi Al-Hafiz Hall in the headquarters of the National Business Council of Iraq and attended by a number of specialists and private sector personnel organized by the Iraqi National Business Council and Hammurabi Foundation for Training and International Arbitration.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Bandar, Vice President of Hammurabi Foundation for Training and International Arbitration, Secretary General of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce presented a brief introduction to international arbitration and its importance in trade relations and investment
The workshop dealt with four working papers.
First Paper: Dr. Abdul Latif Nayef, Vice-Premier, presented the most important agreements related to arbitration.
The second paper: Judge Wael Abdul Latif presented a working paper "On the Arbitration Institutions in the World"
The third paper: Professor Ali Fawzi al-Moussawi Professor of Commercial Law dealt with the mechanisms of implementation of arbitral decisions issued by institutional arbitration or free arbitration
The fourth paper dealt with the subject of commercial arbitration in Iraqi laws and reviewed the legal articles that concern the commercial disputes that arise and how the Iraqi legislator dealt with them for many decades before the idea of commercial arbitration.
The seminar concluded with an important recommendation to establish a number of courses to increase the area of international arbitration.
